VL1500 Bright Swan
The transformation from an ugly duckling to a beautiful swan.
One fine day Martin rolled up on his pretty dilapidated VL 1500 to our shop. A 1999 model, ok, 15 years old. But there was rust everywhere, bald tires, awful beige brown paint, crappy parts fitted & cable sleeves made from a shower hose were just some of the “highlights” found.
A wider tire, new paint and a few other bits & pieces were his request.
“No chance” I told him.… “Only a general overhaul will save her.” So it was agreed that the bike would be completely stripped down, de-rusted, overhauled & last of all, powder coated. No sooner said than done. Approximately 1 cubic meter of crappy parts were junked and the bike was fitted with new, wider rubber. The matt white paint really makes her stand out don’t you agree?
